That is true, but he is the exception ... not the rule.
A huge majority of 5sfe owners that go turbo, blow up.
It is much more worthy of your time it swap the 3sgte in.

alot of people are doing the 5sfgte putting a 3sgte head on a 5sfe block it requirs a little work but I've seen some good numbers on thie you retain the stock 2.2l block whish is good for tq so but like I said it's a bit of work deal.later

Heres a guy thats running in the 10's with the 5sfe turbo'd..

From his page:
1991 MR2 Turbo owned by Mike Colon
Best et: 10.9 @ 124mph
My vehicle started out as just a means of being different by
running a turboed 5sfe. With a lot of experimenting, tuning, and
patience I was able to muster out 515 rwhp. The setup
consisted of the following:

Mike is who I referenced above.
... again, he is the exception - not the rule.
you can choose to look at the one person who did it an ran 10s or you can look at the dozens upon dozens that have done it and blown up their engine.
Is it your only car? Can you afford to lose the engine? Do you have a comprehensive knowledge of turbocharging motors that were not designed to be turboed?
