I have a 2001 Ram 1500 reg. cab and im about to buy some Eclipse 6x9's and they are 3 1/16'' deep....It is 1 in the morning and i dont really feel like going into the garauge and taking off the inside door cover so i was woundering if anybody could tell me what size speekers come stock on a 2001 ram reg cab and the depth of the door. thanks, omswrestler01

You can enter in your vehicle and they will tell you what will fit and the prices are decent. I just changed my front door speakers in my 01. The original speakers are 6x9's but there is an issue with the mounting depth of aftermarket speakers-the magnets sit too deep on some and the tweeter sticks up too far on others. :banghead: There is a pair of Pioneer 6x9's that would fit (that are not available at Crutchfield) but I've been told they're not very good quality.

I ended up with a pair of Infinity 6 1/2 shallow mount. I got them yesterday so I haven't got them in yet, but several sources (Crutchfield and local car stereo joints) told me this was my only high-quality option... unless I wanted to go with components, which would be more money than I wanted to spend.

I hope it helps, Adam

ya i asked the quetion but today i went out and got the eclipse 6x9 4 ways instead of the 3 ways..they fit perfectly..i have about 1/4'' from the very tip of the tweeter that sits furthest out to the plastic crap on the inside of the door, they sit in there perfect and i didnt ahve to cut any of the plastic so it looks stock which is really good bc ppl will think by looking at it that it is stock and so its better for my bc i tricked out my truck and it would be a target and ppl would probally think i have a kick ass system in it...but when they look in all the see is speekers that look stock bc none of the plastic is cut...but anyways the eclipse 6x9 4 ways cost me about $160 plus tax for a pair...they produce an extremely clear sound with nice bass...now i plan on trying 2 fit 2 12's behind my seats and another 10...
