So I'm thinkin of buying this hot ass 7 with 99k on it and a clean Carfax report. One problem - its kind of crashed. Me and my pa go round car auctions buyin sum wrecked up cars an fix em up, but when I told him I wanna get this rx7 he started screaming at me and shit. He said there is no way of fixing this car without major problems down the line, thats if you can fix it. I think he is just bullshittin me cause he doesn't want me gettin a 14 sec car to race the streets. The engine and interior is perfect, front needs a pass. fender, left side is straight, but the rear right quarter pannel and tire is fuked up. I got pics below if u wanna see what the hell im talking about. But anyways, im just trying to find out about how much repairs and parts will be to get that whole back side fixed. I know people that'll do the body work i just dont know about that tire, i think itll need a new suspension, axle, and a lot more but thats what im trying to find out here. Any info appreciated. Thanks

How much is it selling for?
At 99K miles that motor is probably about ready to crap out on you. As for the right rear suspension, it looks pretty bad. Which is why it is out in a auction field.
I would imagine you would need: a new control arm, sway bar, axle, coil/shock, and that's just for starters.
You shoud save yourself the trouble and keep looking, unless you are looking for a serious project car, like something to turn into a road race car. With that many miles, and that extent of damage you would be spending more than that car is worth to begin with.
Take your "Pa's" advice and keep looking.

I hope this sentence was intended as a joke, because it sure made me laugh. Two words....spell check.

Thanks for the input. I don't think the engine would have serious problems at 99k, I mean if the previous owner took good care of the car. Also, I have been looking for a crashed rx7 for a while now and if you haven't noticed they r pretty rare to even see whole in the classifieds or a dealer's lot, let alone an auction. But I think im goin to have to do more research before i jump into that commitment.

Good call.
However, most cars can easily live a life over 99,000 miles. The 93-95 RX-7 is not a normal car though. With restrictive emissions equipment, high compression from the turbos, and underpowered cooling systems the FD3S RX-7s were notorious for prematurely blowing up.
If the previous owner(s) took VERY good care of it, it may not be an issue. You would need to up grade the cooling system to be safe (radiator, intercooler, oil cooler....etc)

hmm.. if i saw this aid be tempted also. the thing is that there arent many rexes around and so the used parts market is slim. you will probalby have to go to the dealer for most things... which will cost you. but yeah, nice find.. i say go for it and see what comes out of it..

say what?! NEVER go to the dealer! Replacement
(new and used) and aftermarket parts are easy to find, except they can be kind of pricey. But a hell of a lot less pricey than the dealer. Rebuilt engines are decently priced too.

if the rx-7 was in good running condition, with a decent driver and tires, then it would be more of a 13 second car, depending on location.

Well some rican bought the car and I'm kinda regretting not giving more for it. It went for $5,100 and when I looked at the interior and engine it seemed like the car had 30k miles not 100. Oh well too bad I'll keep looking, oh btw, there are more rx7's at that auction but it looks like I will never run into another one like that black one. Here's what I mean:

Thats what you get when you combine pure power and the need for speed.
