hey im am currently swaping in a sr20det black top into a 89 240sx, but the thing is that the place i am doing this at doesnt do a/c. I've heard that for an 89 there's more work to it then just buying the compressor and sticking it in. can anyone help me w/ this problem? thanks.

i dunno what exactly has to be done, but i know it involves re-routing of hard lines.

from what i heard, and im not totally sure, but someone told me i have to use a 91+ compressor, and i've also heard that i have to rerun the hardlines. Is this possible to do myself, or can any a/c shop do it for me?

any ac shop should be able to do that, as long as its all stock stuff. If they are just putting on 91+ 240sx stuff it shouldn't be too difficult....

To use the compressor from the sohc ka, you will need to make a custom bracket to mount it to the sr. the dohc compressor will bolt up using 3 of the 4 bolts. my suggestion: go to a junkyard and find a dohc compressor.
