i have a mysterious coolant leak.... it all started back when i noticed the radiator was leaking .... I had that replaced and noticed that I was still losing coolant.... I've checked everywhere and can't find the leak... I can smell the leak around the engine but cant see it..... someone mentioned something to me about some seal caps or something.... has anyone else had this problem???..... does anyone know what these seal caps are???

Pick them up at the Olds or Caddy dealer. Apparently a healthy system can start leaking after a coolant flush if you dont use them.

You can can a dye to put into the coolant. It might be easier to see.

On my '95 the leak was at the water pump. Now on my 2001, the leak(s) are at the water pump AND at the water crossover pipe. The latter is very expensive to fix because of labor.

A lot of the small coolant leaks can be stopped by removing the factory spring steel clamps and replacing them with the reliable stainless hose clamps.

How was your problem resolved?

My 2001 Aurora V8 had the same problem. Took 3 trips to the dealer to fix it. There is a coolant path as part of the intake manifold/throttle body whose O rings go bad. Labor intensive to fix.
