D15b???

Anyone kno anything about this motor...d15b..it was shipped from japan..it was jus put in a friends civic an he wrapped it up in a pole..but the motor is still good..the motor is not vtec...I need to kno everything possible about it...and....can a d16y8 head go on it? anyone who has one...how is it?

I thought the D15B was the engine with 3 stage VTEC.

The only non-VTEC D15Bs I can think of are ones like the D15B1 and B2 from the STD and DX, or I think wasn't D15B7 the newer DX engine. All of them are pos engines though.

japan also had a non-vtec d15b (no number after the b) , its a dx engine around 95 hp. I got one when i blew the headgasket on my stock dx engine.

i got a d15 in my hatch kinda slow but it got 350,000 miles and still rollin and hopefully will keep goin till i got money to replace it

only the d15b's from 96-00 were 3-stage.....92-95's were 2-stage
