gloss drip... how to fix??

I just looked at my new model that I glossed over a week ago, and I found an area where there is a drip that dried right around the door handle. Its a big drip and comes off the body about 2-3 mm. Its big enough to be a big problem on the finish.

Question is: how to fix this problem, striping the paint job is not an option. If I sand the drip down its going to fudge up the paint job because of all the sanding involved. I might be able to trim it off with a new x-acto blade and then compound and sand area, or is there a better way???

Your best bet is to do a careful wet block sanding (fine grit) of the area and try to work it down from there. Follow up with compounding.

Taking a blade to it will only leave divots in your paint.

What he said. You may want to gloss again, too. Don't use the knife. I had a gloss drip on the last model I painted (Q45, not finished yet), and I used the knife to try to fix it. It was better than before, but it still looked a little ugly. Luckily, it was just at the bottom, which hard to notice, and another coat of gloss helped make it look a little better.
