I have a question, I've been looking all over for an answer but nobody seems to know: I need to find a diagram of my engine layout, more specifically, I need to see how my distributor (the drive gear on the shaft) connects to the crankshaft. The reason is my car won't start, because it isn't getting any spark or it sparks a couple of times and then stops. I've taken it to 3 different mechanics and none of them are worth of a damn and I've lost 600 already. I noticed that when I took off the distributor cap, the rotor doesn't turn when I crank the engine (I had my friend crank it for me, while I watched the rotor). The engine turns, but the rotor just sits there, rocking back and forth just a little. So I think the connection between the distributor gear and the crankshaft is messed up somewhere, but I want an engine layout diagram, so i can see how hard it is to get to and howmuch work is involved (I might be able to fix it myself). I've already replaced the coil, distributor itself, the cap, the rotor and even the spark plug wires. So I think it's a mechanical problem (it's not advancing the distributor, so it won't spark). Any help or suggestions would be of great help. Just in case you forgot the question, I need an engine layout diagram or some places where I could start looking.

The distributor is driven by the camshaft, the camshaft isn't turning because you have broken a timing belt - does the engine sound uneven when it's cranked? That's because only one half of the motor has compression.
