Best Sil-80 face??

Hey sup? I just bought a 1993 240sx hatch and I love it more than anything. But i absolutly hate the flip up lights because most of the time one of them will stay shut. So I am going to do what many, MANY people have done before me, the Sil-80 conversion. So I was just wondering which model face I should use. Since i am obsessed with all silvias i cant decide, sometimes i want the s13, no the s15 no i like the s14, no the s14a, I cant even go to sleep at night!!!! Anyway, which one do you think is the best, the old school s13, the s14 or the s15 face. Im still debating weather or not to make it a true sil-80 or a new 15-80. Which ever one most of you prefer Ill use because i was going to flip a coin when i realized there where only 2 sides :)

i vote for S13 since it's the easiest, cheapest, and IMO the best looking. i plan to turn my future 240 hatch into an S13 Sileighty. always have.

s13 keep it on the year it is supposed to be on and i think the s13 looks best on the fastback

i said S14 cause u dont see that much. the Kouki looks bad ass on s13 fast backs, but if u got a coupe then i say go with the s13 silvia front, thats dead sexy

i chose the s15 front for the fastback, it looks the best to me, and i think it flows the best. then i would say s14(97-98), s13, then the s14(95-96), or whatever the names of the face are in jap.

Hi, I've noticed that there are at least four types of Silvia (P)S-13 headlights.
There are the dual projector+fog
OOIII Silvia IIIOO
triple projector w fog
OOo Silvia oOO
triple projector w driving light
OOo silvia oOO
and non projector
== Silvia ==

I went with the dual projectors on my Sileighty because I like the way they look, even though they seem to be the most common although alot of people do the non projectors.

Does anyone know what the differances were on the cars they came on? Like were projectors an option or did the headlights change from year to year? Or were the different lights part of different trim packages?

I say go with the S-15. I think the S-15 makes it look like a mean car. The S-13 is cool too. The S-14 that would be cool too Not very common. loook.... i cant even decide what to do...

Yea, sorry for repeating, i found the answers right after i aksed it. Anyway, is that "silvia" pice in the center the same through all the years? Are there different sizes (and if not, do they all fit on each of the different types of headlights)? Are there also different side parts of the lights? {I think I am going toward the S13 face.}

Here's what I've been able to find out:
CA18 Silvias had the grille with the small "Silvia" script
SR20 Silvias had a larger script (mine)
"factory" Sileighties had an R32-style grille
Tommy kaira Silvias had a solid body colored grille with an offset "Tommy Kaira" script

upper turnsignals: (next to headlights)
lightly smoked+amber (mine)
clear+amber
full amber (Tommy Kaira, maybe others too)

lower turnsignals (in bumper) :
amber(mine)
clear
amber+clear

Silvia bumpers:
Silvia J's (one large opening in middle)
Silvia Q's (same as J's) although mine has a hole in it for the intercooler
Silvia K's (has the additional hole on left side for intercooler)
Silvia Q's/K's aero (larger lip one large hole in center, a smaller one on each side, trim grilles filled in next to plate holes)
Tommy kaira bumper (downright insane)
"factory sileighty" bumper (same as aero)

sideskirts:
none: J's,Q's,K's, zenki and chuki 180sx
"type X" 180SX type X,type S, type R, and "factory" Sileighty

wing

"rubber" wing- early 180SX, and 240SX SE hatchbacks (avoid!!!!)
typeX wing is on type X, type R, type S usually wingless
wangan- most original (homemade) Sileighties have these
wangan type II- a longer wangan that is slightly lifted off the hatch (about 2" between bottem of wing and body, sides still touch) (mine)
(also available in carbon fiber, like I have, I highly recommend it)

I hope this helps you in choosing parts for your S13 face Sileighty, although I probably added to your insomnia

Actually, check this out. It's a drift meet I was at. Randomly strewn throughout this thread are four or five pics of me in my red Sileighty. Don't worry, I got better as the day wore on.... I even got second place. My car has the newer grille, dual projectors, q's front bumper with k's cutout, and a carbon fiber wangan type II wing. tell me what you think! :biggrin: btw, the black hatchback 240SX won first, that guy is really good :sunglasse

Niiiice. Your paint is definitely in better condition than mine. Once you drop the car some more, it will really bring out its beauty. My car looks ok in the pics, but when you get up close, looks like a cat got to it. Hehe. Oh well, drift cars can't be show cars.

one reason I was sucking so bad at the beginning was because the power steering went out, and my rear shocks are totally shot. I want some type HE's!

personally, id havwe to say id stick with the pop ups on the 240sx fastback, but as you say yours are fucked

i dont like coupe onevia look, i would convert to silvia...

as for sil-80

s15 look good, but s13 looks WAAAy better on fastback

s13 NON PROJECTORS, to me, they do not look quite as sleek as projectors on the sileighty... BUT, that is only on the sileighty, on the silvia s13 i would prefer non projectors

and when you have the non projectors,,,, you HAVE TO HAVE THE r32 style grill instead of the center panel;,,,, so much better.

but yeah, tri projects would be my pick for the shila eighty

I like them all so I won't vote lol. The S15 is the sleekest, The S14Kouki just looks cool and unusual to me, and the S13 still looks good, its classic, and its what is designed for that car.

i definaltly choose the s15, it looks the most meanest...i makes the s13 look cute...you dont want to look cute do you?..hehe.j/k

i think it's an OEM bumper with a lip on it...but the paint is too dark, i can't see for sure.
