first kill with my new integra

Well I've had my 95 Integra for about four days now and finally lined up for the first time. I raced a 91 Prelude Si 5 spd. with intake, headers and exhaust. As far as I knwo that's all the guy has. My car is still stock. (Ironicly I had an intake and some headers in my trunk). We went on three honks. We both had a pretty got start with not too much wheelspin and right of the line I started pulling on him. I kept pulling steady until we hit about 90 mph and I shut down. By that time I was about 1 1/2 cars ahead of him. He pulled up next to me after the race, gav me the thumbs up and said "that four door 's got some go".
I don't really know how fast those Preludes are especially with bolt-ons but I was very surprised that I took him. After all it is a four door sedan with a non v-tec motor.

I thought all gsr's were v-tecs...? I thought Si's, gsr's, and rsx's were all v-tec...

for some reason i have a hard time believing this story, i believe that you could beat him but i doubt by 1 1/2 cars

I just told it like it happened. By the time we hit about 90 or 95 mph you could have fit a car and a half in between mine and his. Oh and I was surprised just as much as anyone. I expected to be beaten.

A 91 Prelude is nothing, I def. believe you took it by at least a car length. Good kill though.

Autotrader, and sites like that tend to generalize their numbers based on manufacturer numbers.

If you look, they rate the S2000 at 2,809lbs. My friend's S2000 weighs-in at 2,750 or so with no weight reductions and stock rims.

Maybe different weighing standards?

Point 2: The Prelude is still heavier.

Point 3: I have raced both type of cars...both with similar I/E mods, and although both lost, the Integra kept-up WAY better.

Point 4: They may have similar power, but the Integra has better gearing and a higher redline, meaning longer acceleration through each gear.

Point 5: As somebody pointed-out earlier, who would come on here to brag about barely beating a Prelude 2.0 Si?

ok, here we go w/ wut u said. .1 seconds is more like 1/2-3/4 of a car (really depends on the speed of both cars etc...)

IF we use ur logic, the integra weighs over around 150 lbs less, which would mean about 1/2 a car right there.

I can "assume" how many HP he got from mods because I've been doing this for a long time son. I know and have seen what mods actually give certain Hondas.

OK Mr. Know It All explain this, I have a 91 4dr civic that has a d15b2 in it, with a intake, header and exaust. Now I raced a 92 prelude S (which has 135 hp and 142lb-ft tq so it has the same hp and 31lb-ft mopre tq) with a intake and nothing else, we were dead even until about 75 mph or so and he pulled about 2feet on me and that was how it stayed until 110 or so and we stopped. Now My civic from the factory was rated at 92 hp and don't know how much tq. And I had 16 inch wheels and he had stockers. So explain this Newbie.

1.) The guy that owns the Prelude did all of the mods himslef so the car has been modded for about 1 year.

2.) I have never actually seen or heard him drive off fast until I raced him (which doesn't mean shit though because he could be runnin it hard every other time)

3.) Do not disagree with carrrnut for several reasons: 1. He knows his stuff. 2. He's a mod. and 3. Any thread I've ever read that was written to me sounded straight and not like it was fabricated or BS.

4.) My car has 70k easy miles on it. The Prelude might have 170k hard miles on it (I don't know), which would probably explain it all right there.

I thought that the prelude could take the stock RS with the fact that there was only a slight weight difference and the mods should have given it an upper hand. If carrrnut wants to ban me for an arguement he brought upon this thread, whatever. Im sorry that ima NEWBIE. I didnt know it was a fuckin sin to have a dispute with a moderator on this forum.
