Anyone know what the symtoms of a bad or cloged fuel filter is? Did a begger fuel pump. But sometimes when accelerating boost is perfect but my car accelerates at a crawl. Only does this at low rpms when trying to get on it sometimes. Ive ran my BOV back into my intake and did all the procautionary steps. But keep getting the same effect after a few days. New o2 sensor and car is very well tuned. Havent had a new fuel filter sence 48,000 miles. Is that a start to find the problem. Any advice would be appreciated thanks..

Stuttering coming on boost is a major sign, even though that can be like 30 other things. Replace it anyways, its due.

Think about when a fuel filter would be most likely to become a retriction. At maximum fuel flow. Thats at high rpm at full boost, not low end or midrange ;) I highyl doubt thats it, or you're about to toast your motor on the top end. :D I would focus first on ignition, mainly plug gap (and plug condition). Remeber that turbo cars should get new plugs no later than every 10k miles. Also, the more boost you run, the smaller hte gap has to be. And stick to regular copper plugs, not platinum. Iridium may be ok, but Ihavent tried it yet myself. At anything over stock boost, I would go over 030 gap. I had a spool-up stumble several times, and dropping the gap back down always cures it. Try it out, and let us know if that doest work.

Ok taking the car to the ol dealership this weekend. The one I go to is not that bad. Never too high of prices along with good work done right. Im getting my fuel filter replaced as well as timing belts, water pump, engine mounts. Bye bye turbo money, but least i know ill have a few more miles before my engine goes boom. Oh yeah just got evo 8 ngks. There runnin pretty good along with the spark plug wires. Was told they should be good enough for the set up i got.

I dont know what the Evo uses for a plug, but you should run NGK BPR6ES, gaped to about .030
