ALCS is heating up!

Dammit, I'm enjoying this MLB post season. Which surprises me, since I have not been a baseball fan for a LONG time (when I was little I was, but that's just because it was "the thing to be") Now, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't thoroughly enjoying it based on a large part, because the Sox are in the thick of things- because I've quickly become a Sox fan again :iceslolan There are other reasons though. Every game played by either the Marlins/Cubs, or Yankees/Sox has been a great one- ESPECIALLY this series between the Sox and Yankees. No matter WHO you're rooting for, there is some downright excellent, nail-biting ball being played. The main thing I'm really digging though, is the fact that, FOR ONCE, the big news ISN'T something war or terrorist related, it is old fashioned entertainment (although many would say there is a great deal of friction in its own right between the Sox and Yankees right now :evillol: )

So, while Bush and the (seemingly increasing) pro-war, anti help-our-own-country suits in power are fretting over the Middle East, North Korea, and now CUBA, the biggest tension on most people I talk to right now, is how close the series is :p Maybe I'm just being self-centered, or maybe this post season isn't of much interest to those outside of New England, Michigan, or Florida. But I for one, am thankful for the respite from the constant drone of threatening world affairs.

I agree with you man. Its nice to be able to put all your worries and thoughts to the side for 3 hours and just concentrate on the game. Get excited when good things happen to your team, and then pissed when it goes bad. I'm really enjoying both the NL and AL series'. Anyways, GO RED SOX! :thefinger

The ALCS is gettin better and better with every game. Now it's tied up agian 2-2. Yankees and Bo Sox, starting to see hatred like from the 70's teams. You gotta appreciate and even if my beloved Sox don't win, I do appreciate gettin to enjoy an awesome series.

Oh man, I am SO glad I didn't catch last night's game in its entirety. I think I've already chewed my nails down to the bone :grinno: I DID however make it out of class and to my car just after 8, so I caught the end. I was STOKED. I've gotta admit I had kinda lost some faith going into the 6th, when I caught the game on my break- 6-4 Yankees is rough (especially the way this series has gone) but hearing 9-6 Sox at the end... Hell yeah.

Just over an hour to go... I hope all the New England college towns/cities have there police force on full report if the Sox take it :iceslolan

dude for some people it's not just a game, it's a way of life...it's just a feeling that you get when your home team wins or when they lose, it's like you're one with the team at that point, even though you're not getting any pay for it, nor will most of the fans ever get to play baseball outside of the makeshift ball park in their back yards or public baseball diamonds...you feel your home team's emotions runnning through you...when i saw that the yankees won...my stomach and my heart had felt like they had sprouted legs and run off to hide somewhere......i'm pretty sure that the bostonians, other red sox fans, and the players themselves felt the same crushing blow that i did...it was to the point where my eyes were starting to tear up...i mean there's so much emotion running through any game like that that it totally consumes you like as if it ate you for breakfast...yeah it's only a game, but those games are like life....... :2cents:
