hello everyone. i've been working on my 88 supra turbocharged. have most of it finished. but now comes to the part of the engine. it has a 3.0L single turbocharged motor in it and i really not much in a hurry to rebuild an old engine so i would like to replace it with something else. And i've heard that the 2jz engine is quite impresive. Since my car is already equipped with a turbo engine would i have to upgrade a lot of things and if so please let me know like what. I've always owned toyota and luv them. But this is my first sports car of theirs. if anyone has any insight for me please e-mail me back. [email protected]. thanks

Alright you sound like you don't know much about the car, so you'd probably have a very hard time doing a 2JZ swap, it's complicated and expensive, thus the reason everyone with a MKIII doesn't have one. Everything would have to be swapped out or custom made. If your absolutly stuck on the JZ series engines you can do a 1JZ swap, it's still complicated but it's alot easier than the 2JZ, since it came in the JZA70 MKIII. You just have to buy a front clip from www.jarcoinc.com or www.soko.com or similar. Now that that's said their's nothing wrong with the 7M, it can make tons of HP and gobs of TQ, more than you'll ever need just keep it filled with oil so you don't get rod knock :iceslolan , and get the head and block milled/prepped at a maching shop for a MHG and ARP studs. If you plan on big numbers you should get some forged alum pistons and have the rods shotpeened/magnafluxed, maybe do alittle head work and your block is set.
