I am thinking about installng 36 inch tires on my completely stock comanche. Is a lift kit needed - if so what size and is there suggestion of make. Is there other issues to be concerned about? thanks

Ummm dude...... 31's need a lift. 36 inchers on a comanche/cherokee(same platform) needs at least 12"+ to even fit 35's and have some articulation left over. Yeah and dont forget fender trimming, and drivetrain mods up the wazoo.

Jeeps dont need big tires, they were made good enough to do nearly anything with 30's. My Jeeps 28's have never had clearance probs even on ROUGH terrain. Even with a 3" lift 30's are good enough for me.

I have a 3" lift with 35" MT's with the flair modification and drive train modified.

cost = $8000

Did this when I went out on the glaciers and now moved away from those things... now i just go mudding and I will go to places where other people got stuck to TRY and get stuck and cant. Never have gotten stuck... *knocks on wood
