I used to have a dohc zc before I went b series. I was pleased with the engine and it was relatively quick. Going from the 92hp d series up to a 130 hp zc was a big difference. My 1/4 mile times were in the mid 15's 15.3-15.7 depending on conditions. I didn't particulary like that there wasn't a lot of aftermarket support and some maintenence parts were tough to find but overall it is a good motor for a cheap price.:)

A new clutch should help in launching the car which will help lower your 60' times which in turn lower ets. You have a sohc zc right?? I think your quarter mile time might be pretty close to what you would expect from that motor.

DOHC ZC has 130hp while the SOHC ZC only has 115-118 horsepower. DOHC ZC run anywhere in the 15's whilethe SOHC runs slower than that due to the difference in hp. With all you have done you most likely have somewhere in the neighborhood of 125hp but I could be wrong. I/H/E don't make a huge difference on our motors. Maybe 10-15 flywheel hp at the most. So I would try doing a tuneup on it and put that new clutch in and see what happens. Replace plugs, wires, cap and rotor and anything else you feel like replacing at the time. Good Luck

SOHC ZC looks like an A6, while the SOHC VTEC ZC looks like a Z6.

Unless your clutch has already failed, don't expect faster times from a new one. A clutch in itself does not give you a better launch. Only more practice, better grip, LSD etc will improve your 60ft times. The baddest, most expensive clutch on the market will do nothing for your 60ft if you cannot get grip. At this point, you probably don't need a performance clutch. 120 lbs ft of torque is not enough to justify the cost of an expensive aftermarket clutch. Save your money. If you really do need a replacement clutch assy, an inexpensive CenterForce from optauto.com isn't a bad option, has higher torque holding capacity than you currently produce and is only about $300.

i've got the dohc zc with 2.5 head back exhaust. 8.8 flywheel, dual force clutch, CAI and i'm running 9.4 in the 1/8th and 8.7 in the 1/8 with juice. don't know if that helps it's in an 89 std.
