I'm looking to buy a Ram 1500 or a Dakota. I need room to safely put a carseat in the back. Does the extended cab have enough room? Does anybody currently use a carseat in the extended cab? I really do not want a quad cab. Would like to see if the extended cab is enough. Thanks.

Wellll....my 2002 Dakota has built in anchors for a child seat in the back, so I guess it would fit alright.
Not having kids yet I'm afraid I can't offer any better than that. :dunno:

My daughter is 10 months old and she fits fine in the back seat of my extended cab Dakota. Any other questions let me know.

Yes, a car seat fits in a "club cab" dak, barely, as long as your wife is short. I'm over 6' and it would never go behind my seat. Wife is 5'4 and knees aren't quite to the dashboard.
Of course, you can also TURN THE PASSENGER airbag OFF and use the front if you wanted to.
