I Hate My Grand Am. I Have Had Too Many Problems And No One Seems To Know What Is Going On. 1st Fans Will Not Work. My Car Will Overheat And They Were Replaced And Problem Still Occurs. 2nd Engine/coolant Leak. 3rd And Latest, Fuel Pump Went Out. $523.00 To Fix It. If These Are Standard Problems With The Grand Am, As I Have Read From Many Other Customers, Why Doesn't Anyone Do Something. This Car Is Only A 2000, And It Is Acting Like It Is 20 Years Old.

HAHAHA i hate my 99. i could have bought a damn new mercedes with the money ive spent on fixing it and ive only had it for 3 years. replaced: alternator, brakes pads and rotors about 9 times so far, about 10 new tires because the front end tore them up and NO it was NOT out of line, battery twice, cd player (although i did get a kickass one now), both side mirrors, rearview mirror, about to havea new transmission put in, so many leaks its not funny... the worst thing i did was get that car. WHY couldnt i have picked a trans am? oh well... still beats a ford =)

Well Ya know all I can say is $hit happens. I have talked to many people who LOVE there G/A and some who hate them. but it is the same way for any car or truck.
Also GirlieBird if you were to have bought that Merc. You would probably spend more on parts alone than that thing is worth

hey I've had problems with my 95, but nothing major. In general i like it, just wish there were more performance parts/body kits and stuff for it.

Sometimes people need to think ahead!
You buy a car or lease a car , seriously work out how much driving per year your gonna do work out how many years to pay it off work out how much you paid in after warranty or non warranty repairs then figure out whether you may need extended bumper to bumper warranty ($100 deductable) goes up to 100,000 miles or like mine 160,000 miles($2000 and is 50-100 dollar deductable) I saved over 2 grand with my extended warranty , meaning the extended warranty paid itself double. Im not nice to my car whatsoever but i pay attention to every maintenance and every sound that dont belong and keep up with it so the car can keep up to my demands. Look at the average value of a year old used grand am. say 20,000 miles and costs $12,995 , its got 12,000 miles of warranty left and is elegable to have extended warranty put on at time of purchase , the extended warranty wont kick in till the miles are past 32,000 miles and the warranties its elegable for can be put on for up to 7 years past activation date of car. Thats the problem people have , why pay for something i wont use? Well within 7 years you most likely will need some repairs. This goes for any newer cars with some factory warranty left. Look into it , can save you thousands in the long run! :)
