what's up with the rear window louvers on the mustang? those are only supposed to go on camaros or cars that look just like camaros
for reference, the first car to have rear window louvers was not a camaro.
i've never seen them on a camaro.
the mustangs in 67-70 were the first cars that i can recollect having the louvers on them... the camaro was just coming out at that point in time...
those cars do look kinda cheezy... (no pun intended) but the second one at least looks like it would be pretty fast...

I saw some on an older Mustang on my way to school today...An older one, about early 90's. That's exactly what i thought to.

holy shizz that first one is absolultly retched.
i don't care how fast it is, if it looks like that then run it off the road.
and whats all this calling domestic cars "rice".
i think when a domestic looks like that we should call it "potatos" or something dumb like that. :lol2:

there was a topic a while back (and i mean a while) about calling domestic rice " spuds "...

Point was that they had them and that they were functional, not that they were copying old mustangs...

I remember the thread about calling domestics spuds... That indeed was a while ago. Yellow doesnt work. Maybe black and they wouldnt be so eye soring. The first mustang just looks hideous. The second is an early to mid 80's fox. Actually I would say its an 85. It does look like it has some go, although i have seen mustangs that had nice welds and slicks that were stock. Hmm makes me wonder.

did i say they copied the mustangs?
nope.
but mark (mynismo) said that those are only supposed to go on camaros or cars that look just like camaros
though they were first on the mustang.
hence my clarification.
no where did i say "oooh, copycat"

Okay, so you didn't say "copying" in such a way, but there was definately insinuating going on...

if there was a word to explain what i said, it'd be "clarifiying".
mark made a point, which was not clear, or completely true.
i was clarifying the point...
insinuation is such an evil sounding word...

if you compare these cars to the older ones that actually had the louvers, those actually look like they are supposed to have them. these cars make me want to reach down the guys throat and pull out his sense of taste.

The oldest car I can think of to use louvres in the rear window would be the Toyota Toyopet of the 1950's. However, in the toyopet, they were funtional, and not for show - they were actually mounted on the inside of the window, and simply served to keep rear seat passengers from becoming rednecks. However, I'm pretty sure that these things date back to even before the 50's.

No, I mean spelt, as in a noun meaning a hardy wheat grown mostly in Europe. Yea, spelled was what I meant.
BlkCamaroSS
10-18-2003, 07:46 PM
The louvres on both the mustangs and the Camaros were to keep the backseat riders from becoming rednecks as well. I think that's the purpose of all of them, except for maybe those yellow mustangs, where they're just retarded...

Thats nothing, yesterday I saw a Laberon with a huge spoiler and some 15 inch stop and goes. It had some design on the side and it was mad dirty. I'm mad I didn't have a camera.
