I've got 2 keyless remotes for a 94' G20t P10 security. I can program the remotes, but when I program one, it disables the other.
Is there some secrect to programming more than 1 remote for the same car? Or is it that the other remote was too close to the car when I was reprogramming the other?
Thanks for any help!
Sam

Well, it wasn't that the other remote was too close. And I tried programming them at the same time, still no go. I'm taking the G in for some brake work in 2 days to the local Infiniti dealer, so I should be able to get the secret then. I will post as soon as I know!!
I know you are all just DIEING to know the secret as much as I.
Until Thursday!!! G20t94 is out.

Okay all of you who looked at this message but hadn't a clue. Here's the answer.
After programming the first remote, you have to repeat steps 4,5, & 6 for the second, third and so on. Then on the remote you press the Lock button one time.
Basically:
1. Get in and lock doors via auto
2. Pop Trunk
3. Insert/remove key into ignition 8x's
4. Unlock doors via auto
5. Lock doors via auto
6. Press lock button on remote once
I believe that is all the steps, if not I'll revise. G20t94

Hey Sam!
Do you have to reprogram both remotes at the same time,
or will reprogramming the second one pick up the same program
as the first?
Here is my situation:
Out of the 2 remotes that I got when I bought my 1996 last month
- only one works, and I know that the battery in the second one is fine
(unless it's busted despite the battery being fine).
Anyway - so, based on your experience, if only the second one needs
reprogramming - do I HAVE to reprogram the first remote first,
and only then follow steps 4,5 and 6 and press Lock once?
Does every reprogramming pick a different code and that's why
all remotes have to re-programmed together at the same time?
Thank you in advance for the clarification!

You will have to reprogram both of the remotes because if you program the 2nd one w/out programming the 1st one at the same time, the 1st one will become inactive. I guess the system sends it a special code and basically deactivates the original one that would be in your #1 remote.
That is one way to test if the 2nd is in working condition (program it by itself and make sure it works that is).

Thanks, Sam.
I'll give it a try and let you know afterwards how it worked out.

Great news!
It worked like a charm, but there are to caveats for anyone else
who tries the same:
- In step 1: you must use the Auto lock on your centre console
(next to your hand brake), and not the lock on your remote
- In step 3: you must insert/remove the key 8x, and not 6x as
described in the Infiniti Web page
Otherwise it worked fine and I now finally have two working remotes.
Thanks again, Sam!:flash:

Do you guys know if the G20 (1993.5) comes with a starter kill? I'm worried one of these days my alarm battery will fail and I won't be able to start the car.
Usually, there is a bypass button, correct? If there isn't a bypass button, can the alarm be disabled?
Also, anybody know how much it is to order an extra transmitter from the dealer?

If you mean the remote, check eBay. They have remotes for the P10 and P11 G20 on there periodically for a decent price.
OR for a new remote not used you can go here:
www.remotesunlimited.com
They are $59.99 (NEW) if I am not mistaken.
The dealer will try to rape $119.00 + outta your wallet. OUCH!!!!!

Don't Be Ripped Off by the Dealer this can cost as much as $50 bucks!! This is the proper way to program one, or multiple remotes up to 4. For all model G20's.
Step 1: Get into vehicle lock all doors using the switch on the driver's door or center console.
Step 2: Reach down and pull the trunk release.
Step 3: Insert and remove your key from the ignition until the hazzard lights flash. (Approximately 5-8 times.)
Step 4: Unlock and lock car doors using driver's side door switch or center console.
Step 5: Turn ignition to position 3 accessories on.
Step 6: Now press the lock button on your remote, the hazzard lights will flash and your remote is now programmed.
NOTE!! To program additional remotes simply turn ignition to off and then back to position 3 and press lock button on remote. The hazzard lights will flash and your remote will be programmed up to a max of 4 remotes can be programmed per vehicle. Whallah!!
