Stupid Installers

Someone installed my headunit in my car before I got it, just recently I found out my rear speakers were running mono. when I plugged up the ideal wires in the head unit area to fix the one side, and switched to the other wire which I assumed was the stock wire running to the speaker in the back, it only plays bass... Weird. Well I flipped positive and negative to check the phase... same thing... I tried random wires, same thing. ARGH... so I decided to go to my local audio dealer, who wants to charge 70 dollars to fix one dang speaker... well I said no. Anyone have any ideas what is wrong?

wire short prehaps? thats a weird problem im not to sure. id check to see the wiring on the speeker itself to see if theres anything fishy going on.

well I know someone had cut the wires that connect the rear speakers and connected them to the left rear instead, the only other things disconnected are stuff that have other connections elsewhere

sounds like you have wires being crossed somewhere along the path. my recomendation is to run new wire to them its not verry difficult. just run it under the carped down the middle then up the center trim and into the door. should take about 20 mins depending on how stuborn your trim is.
