trans jerks really bad in take off

when i try to take off in first fast is jerks and sound like the trans is going to jump out. Why does it do this is it me or the car?

Sounds like wheel hop. What year/model/make of this car do you have? Turbo/nonturbo? What does the car do? Does the engine change pitch at all?

it is a 96 nonturbo gs.....it is not slipping in the trans i make a load sound as it jerks like it trying to get in gear but no grinding.

sounds like you need engine mounts
looked at the motor mounts the frount one does move some when i put it in gear how much play should it have? :2cents:
