What would make you think a lady wouldn't be into scale modelling?

I know nothing about ladies on AF but in Belgium there are lots of ladies who are building kits.
They mostly paint figures but I've seen some doing cars and military. Their work is absolutely awesome. It's well known , women are more patient.

My GF has started building models since we started going out. Have to say, it is handy having a partner interested in modelling, makes it easier to justify buying stuff. :iceslolan :iceslolan It amazes me how much faster her skills have developed than mine ever did. I like to to tell myself it must have something to do with my expert tutoring. :p She is definately way more patient about doing really fine detail stuff than I am!

Car modelling is just a more male orientated hobby, just like sewing based hobbies or even clothes shopping :evillol: have a larger female following..
I'm not trying to sound sexist here, you just need to look at the facts..
How many of you guys out there do cross stitch? Or enjoy a whole day shopping for one pair of shoes to match your new bag??
I'll agree that some of the women model makers out there put some of us guys to shame and good luck to them.
But look at all the major clothes designers that are men!!

I spent a day trying to find thigh-high boots for an anime costume once. Does that count?
In all seriousness, though, I lost my local hobby shop's annual model car contest three years in a row to a girl. Her name escapes me, but she's a topnotch replica stock musclecar builder.

I don't know if she ever checks the board anymore, but an old member named Hiro (real name Jenny), used to turn out some masterworks...
If you remember her, you might be interested to know that I heard somewhere (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=435912) that she placed 1st for the Subaru class at the driftshowoff yesterday in Irwindale.
(plus link to pics in that thread. Hers is the white WRX under 'company cars,' IIRC.)
