I believe it was 76Cobra who bought a summit cam, and had nothing but problems after that.

It depends what you want to make for hp. The summit rebuild kits are fine cause it's everyone else parts just package together. I'd stay away from everything else.

summit brand parts are mass produced more so than other companies. say 'for instance' on a camshaft lobe, Crane Cams has a tolerance of .002 on it. summit may have .003-.004 tolerance, its the little stuff like that. why do you think the summit brand stuff is so much cheaper. cause its made cheaper! its kinda like picking a civic over a mustang, it'll work and they are cheaper but why the hell on earth would you do it.

Me and my stepdad just put together a 83' GT w/ a 335 horsepower 302, not a crate engine, our stuff that we thought would work and guess what??? EVERYTHING was from summit. We've ran the HELL out of that thing and no problems. Maybe you should quite blaming the maker and start blaming the assembler. Denial, a bad habit.... :nono:

ok before i say anything else im gonna say this. i said 'summit brand' im my reply and in your reply you said 'ordered from summit'. i 'ordered' a lot of stuff through summit for my car. summit as a distributor is an awesome company with great prices. but as far as 'quality high performance parts', they suck plain and simple. look in everybodys sigs or ask any professional racer. do they use 'summit-brand' parts, no, cause they know most 'summit-brand' parts are just cheaply made. summit parts are good for a bolt on street car type, sure. but if your gonna race or beat on it, get some other brand who is well known for having long lasting, quality, high performance parts. and in regards to your accusation of me being a bad mechanic/assembler, yea i know what you were getting at, keep it to yourself cause you dont know jack fuckin shit about my abilities.

take a chill pill you ass, stangracer has proven himself on this site a lot more then you have. not only that, but in this debate his articulance and emperical discussion has far outdone your insults and personal references. don't take everything so personaly, a comment on sumit is not an attack on you - not everyone is going to dig what you support so bitch be cool
