Well I don't know why, but all my last project got the same problem.
Tha paint look good, but when you tutch it, it feel rough and that make the paint not as shiny as it should. Usually a good compound do the trick, but it's start to piss me off a bit since my last project (Wald Altezza) was paint with a praycan i used for an another model (I did not run out of paint, but it was just 3 light coats) Since it's only 3 light coats, I can't compound it since i'm sure I will hit the primer really fast.
So what is this rough thing that go over my paint ? What I usualy do:
2 Coat of primer
waiting 2 day
3 light coat of paint, waitin 15 minute between each coat.
I put my model in Microwave between coat and when it is done
after 6 hours, the paint is dry and I can see this problem.. I do some small details on it (panel line and window trim) but I don't really tutch it before 7 days
I didn't had this problem before and now it does this on my 4 last model. I did try to paint in another room and see if it was dust or something, but I have the same problem.
Also, only the top of the car seem rough, so maybe it's something wrong with tamiya spraycan when you run out of paint ?
Thanks for help

After you spray 2 to 3 light coats of Tamiya you need to shoot one or two heavier wetter coats that will "level" out. They should dry smooth and glossy.
Try this next time and see if you have better results.

:iagree:
You must spray 2-3 wetcoats after you spray the 2-3 light(mist) coats. Mist coats produce roughness, or orange peel, as the paint dries fast, since it is sprayed from a distance. The wetcoats will sort-of Re-level the roughness and give you smooth paint finish.
Maybe you want to try letting the primer harden, or gas-out (as P-Man calls it), for about 5 days before you start painting.
Differrence between the mist coat and wet coat, is that wet coat is sprayed 1 inch closer, e.g if u spray mist coat from 5 inch, you must spray wet coat at 4 inch. :smokin:

Next time you should buy another spraycan of paint.
i had this problem before. i tried to use the leftover paint in the can, and ended up only managing to spray 3 mist coats. Next time...DON'T stinge on the paint...BUY ANOTHER CAN JUST IN CASE
Anyway don't feel offended ok?
