Starting trouble and Rust Proofing help

Hi Guys,
I have a 2001 Teg Gsr, and the engine seems to have trouble starting especially in humid weather, could this be because of my aem intake?? Will i have problems starting in the winter??
Also, im considering rust proofing my car and i wanted some advice. Some places charge 50$ while others charge 200$. I live in Canada so i think i might need rust proofing. The 3 types of rust proofing availiable are oil (cheapest) - oil(gel) and rubber compound (most expensive). I would like to know anybody's opion on if it is worth it to get my car rust proofed, and if so which is the best for the money
