Can anybody tell me how easy a RENESIS engine would fit into a RX-7. Are the motors about the same dimensions etc etc. Can anybody also tell me a little about the RENESIS engine, are they a decent engine, are they what there cracked up to be.

Its a brand new engine that became availabe in the US in July.
It seems to be the best N/A engine mazda has mass produced. As far as swapping it into an RX-7 you would need to do some custom fabricating to get it to fit. I am not sure if any aftermarket ECU's will support the 6 port system in them either. You would have to swap in the stock ECU also.

As far as engine dimensions go the engine block itself is identicle on the outside the housings are the same. It would fit in the space. I know from crawling around under one at the Mazda Rev It Up that the mounting points are different.

Honestly I dont think the swap would be worth the money unless what your after is a 230HP N/A RX-7 that will have no reliability issues.

So all that would need to be done is to set different mounting points and as far as a ECU goes, take the one out of the RX-8. Why would it not be worth the money.

Because you could probably buy an FD for the money you'll be putting in.It will also have less horsepower and aftermarket support as well.If an N/A rotary is what you want, then that is the way to go.
