Befor I say anything else I know very little what im talking about. Any ways is there a "Good Year" for the 2nd gen? What year do you guys suggest? And do you know any good used mazda dealers in CA? Thanks!

by a 'good year' I think you mean one year that ran better for some small reason? like some piston engines have 'hotter cams' in some years but with the rotary I'm not sure anything is different, but I'm no pro so who knows

1988 10th Anniversary Rx-7.The best Fc built imo.Only 1500 were built.

Some people regard the 89-91 RX-7's to be a bit better. I think so too.

The horsepower was upped and the engines were refined. The 89-91 Rotor combustion chamber was machin matched thus achieving higher redilines on the N/A RX-7's. The turbo charger with its wastegate on the 89-91 was a better design, a common upgrade for the 87-88 Turbo owners is to add a 89-91 Turbo charger.

A lot of 87-88 Turbo RX-7 owners end up swapping a lot of the 89-91 engine parts when they are upgrading their cars.

There is nothing really wrong with the 87-88 Models its simply the fact that Mazda tweeked the 89-91's.

I have to disagree with you there, because if I were to buy another S4 NA 7, it would be an 88 GTU not the 10th AE. I used to have one, and an 88 GTU is basically a TII without the turbo. And there were also an estimated 1500 88 GTU made.

They are basically 10TH AE's without all the power crap, and badge's. So they sell for less, and are exctly the same.



And if you have the money you should buy an S5 TII, because they will be the fastest secnond generation's bone stock. And have higher compression rotor's, redesighned intake, and alot of other refinements that make them a cut above the S4's. But they also cost alot more than the S4's, so you will pay for it.

It depends what someone wants in a car.The extra luxary that comes with the 10th may appeal more than others.Everybody has different plans with their cars.Some just want a daily driver that is fast when it needs to be.Others may want a car for all out racing etc.
