Well, I know it is hard to say. Because if we didnt know about them, how could we want them. But as of right now. I am greatfull for both. They provide me with a stable job, that I dont have to worry if my skills will be out dated. It also allows us to view more information than we know what to do with. Plus it allows us to see into other cultures of the world. So, what is your take?

Yes, very much so. Though sometimes the Internet seems more like a curse than a blessing (see Addiction thread).

I am absolutely grateful for computers and the Internet. It makes life at work so much easier and allows me to meet some really cool people from all over the world who I would never have had the chance to meet before. :D

Hmm...I'd have to say yes and no. Yes, the Internet and computers in general have made life more streamline, more efficient, some might say (and I would tend to agree) that computers have increased the quality of life for most. This has been seen in a variety of fields and various aspects of life. But, I don't think this is necessarily a good thing. We forget to rely on ourselves when we can just fall back on the Internet and computer. Efficiency and convenience is nice in many regards, but quite frankly, I think that it also presents itself as a bit of a detriment to society. In some aspects we have become too dependant on computers for entertainment. Can we really entertain ourselves anymore? Computers are always present. The influence of the Internet is everywhere. Don't get me wrong. I'm not appreciative of computers or the Internet. It has greatly improved our existence. It has greatly improved society. It has offered us a revolutionary way to communicate with each other, thousands of miles away. But, it also has contributed to a significant shift in our values. How many of us would prefer to write a letter than type out an email? I know people who can no longer wait for a written response from a friend or loved one. Patience is slowly being eradicated from one of our agreed upon virtues. Why wait when you can turn to the Internet or computer? And then there's the issue of privacy. It's been said that the Internet can be viewed as a window to the world, but let's face it, that window goes both ways. So...
Am I grateful for computers and the Internet? Yes and no. It is hard to say, but I won't deny how far society has come with them. We just need to make sure if where we're going is somewhere we want to be...

Computers are a tool and the internet is a method. I cant feel grateful for either. I do however appreciate how the tool and method can be used.

What's your problem BlowOff? If you have one, carry it out via PM, don't start something for all to see.

Yes and no.
I was turely addicted to chat rooms or one chat service for a while. I nearly ruined my relationship with the woman that I came all the way to New Zealand from Chicago to be with. Funny as I met her in that room and things progressed to that stage over 1 1/2 years.
Now it is more of a tool and a way of relaxation. I use computers every day at work, at home for buisness, and the AF forums for entertainment.
I doubt I will ever get hooked into a chat room again as it has been a painfull experience.

I gotta say yep. That's how I found SDU, and got into cars - and how I met a lot of really good friends (and Razor too :p ) All the flashy stuff often gets in the way of the best thing about the internet, which is communication.

I don't feel they have made any revolutionary changes in my life besides being able to access my funds through the ATM 24/7, almost everything else worked fine without them.

I forgot to mention that the firm I work for also does quite a bit of business via the internet in the form of emails. We get all of our autocad drawings or DEX files sent to us via email. We either use that drawing or if needed our die designer then designs a die to suit a particular appaturs shape. We then either fax or send back a complete drawing file to the customer of the final die design.

I like how efficient the internet is. You can look up so many things simultaneously in different windows on the web, where as going to the library took forever, and the computers could only look for one thing at a time.
But patience is dying. The average media clip lasts no longer than 3 seconds because the viewers become bored with anything longer than that!!! And I've been addicted to chat rooms before, and was addicted to AF less than a month ago. I'm slowly weaning myself off the web 24/7 since my personal computer is in the shop.
On the other hand, I've met tons of people from all over the world whom I would have never thought of before the internet came around.
I'm with Dante: It's a tough call. Like televisions and cell phones, the net is both man's greatest blessing and curse!
