airbag light won't turn off

Does this mean the airbag is malfunctioning in my 95 blazer (LT 2wd 4 door) to the point where the airbag will not deploy if needed???

I've read that if the fuse is replaced, or if somewhere along the lines the circuit is disconnected and reconnected, that this could cause the error to dissapear (if it is an error). Is this true? If so, how can I go about checking this? I've checked all the normal mini-blade fuses on the driver's side of the dash, but they all checked out okay.

Any ideas on what this could be, possible costs, or possible easy fixes would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The SIR system has seen a fault in the system and has stored a trouble code and turned on the SIR light.
The AIR bag may or may not deploy in a collision.
The best thing to do is have it diagnosed and repaired by a knowledgeable and factory trained technician.
This is a SAFETY item and not something to fool around with.

I'm not going to actually touch the airbagmodule, I just thought there might be an easy and INEXPENSIVE way to check for a link that may have gotten wet or disconnected.

Either way, it's a lifesaving system, so I definitely need to get it checked. THanks again for the info.

Disconnecting or reconnecting SIR connectors with out the proper safeguards can result in activation and deployment of the AIR bags themselves.
I have witnessed this event first hand and it put the tech in the hospital!

thanks for the help....you would have found an ugly pic on this forum with me as the main show if I hadn't been told that. THanks again!! I'll get it to the dealer to look it over.....part II will let ya'll know if I walked in backwards to the dealer or not.
