95 firebird keyless entry

I purchased a keyless remote for my 95 firebird off Ebay with instructions but it won't work.The instructions say connect jumper wire between dlc terminals "g" and "a".reciever will cycle door lock actuators within 3 seconds to acknowledge that reciever is in program mode.Does anyone know if this is the correct instructions because the door lock actuators do nothing when i follow these directions.
