Two out of three Brake lights out

My two brake lights are out. The center one on the hatch is working but the other two are not working. I have checked the fuse. When I pull the fuse, all three lights do not work. I had a problem with my battery a few days ago and it caused my alarm to continuosly go off when I tried to start the car. I had to push start it (thanks for manual) to get it to start. I replenished the battery fluid with water and it seams to start ok now. I thought it odd that both went out at the same time but replaced both lights with no luck. Help!
