i have a 96 civic hx vtec and i was gonna get a h22 swap but was told to get a b18 swap cus the h22 is heavy...they told me that if i drop a turbo in a sohc..i will get more power than if i dropped it in a dohc...they said it's because the dohc...the turbo has to divide it's power into the two cams...so basically i'll get have the performance...
what d you guys think about this?

ok guys... you are both relatively new. thats cool. I havent been here a really long time either. the best advice i and everyone else is going to give you, READ there is so much to be learned if you read the posts at the top of the forum and just the forum in general
first thing... I hear the h22 is not as terribly heavy as it is made out to be. and the power!!! whoo hoo!
as for the turbo, it does not depend on how many cams you have... (by the way, in a dohc one cam runs intake and the other runs exhaust. in a sohc intake and exhaust are run by the same cam. both motors have 16 valves, 4 per cylinder, 2 intake, 2 exhaust) it depends on block strength, and compression ratio more than anything else
as a general rule vtec is not all that great for turbo
