Ive been reasearching low end "sporty" cars for a little bit now and was wondering about the grand AM. It seems a lot of people like it, and a lot of people dislike it.
I found a 99' Grand AM 2 Door, 42,000k Miles, for $9000, and some supposed warrenty.
Is it worth it? I have heard a lot about them breaking down around 50-60k, maybe more than any normal american car would?
I dont have a whole lot of money to spend, 9000 is basicly my limit. If you dont like the grand am, any other car suggestions in my price range?
Any opinions would be great.

Well as I said in an earlier post, they're good for the short term, but once a grand am starts hitting about 80k or so, it does start to pick up problems....it sounds like the Grand AM you're talking about is still under warranty from the manufactuer. You should be golden for at least another year or so on it, I'm not up on the current warranties offered.
At any rate, I would definately have it checked out before you buy, run a carfax report on it...stuff like that, and I would recommend that to anyone who buys used.

NO nonononono! its not worth it. mine has about 100,000 miles on it and it was 14k when i got it. the same month i got it i was already fixing things on it, and it just gets worse. dont waste the money! when theyre running perfect theyre really great cars, handling, accellerating, braking, everything, but it doesnt last long.

GAs are very reliable, just need to take care off them, if you get either the 3100 or 3400 v6 then watch your oil, the intake gaskets go out in almost every one of them, its the only weakpoint I've found in an otherwise solid enigine line
