engine loses power when it hits 3000 RPMs....

ok i finished the swap like two months ago but i want to get it running good and when you drive it and rev high it will rev fine until like 3 grand, when is hit that it like gets no power then when it gets to 4 it revs fine again....or when im driving and floor it it will go fast to 3 grand, get no power then when it hit 4 it will take off again......you can hear the engine get louder when it hits 3 but it just gets no power......does anyone kno what it could be......i really want to get it running good before i get it on the road..........thanks

Dude it sounds like you vtec is kicking in way too low like at 3 grand if it is then rasie it to 4500-5300 that should cure that problem.

what engine did you swap in?

i swaped in a b16 but i didnt hook vtec up yet so i dont think it has to do with that or could it???....thanks

i have the vtec shit wired and everything but its still throwing the code for the vtec solinoid.....but i have read that you can clean a screen in it that might make it work so im going to try that. one other thing is that i cant find the knock sensor, i read that sum engine dont have one and im not sure where its located.....i think im going to try and clean it and see what happens...........i replaced the plugs and thats it i have new wires that ill try and see what happens......you think i should replace the cap and rotor or what??
