this is a really stupid question but i was wondering....................
My friend says his eclipse was a DSM so what is the 240sx considered?

its a nissan.. dsm is an abriviation for diamond star motors i beleive, more or less meaning mitsubishi. dsms are common catch-all name for the eagle talons, plymouth lasers, and mitsu's

DSM = Diamond Star Motors = colaboration between Chrysler and Mitsubishi.
some prominent DSM's are:
Mitsubishi Eclipse/Eagle Talon/Plymouth Laser
Dodge Stealh/Mitsubishi 3000GT
ah hell, most of the Eagle line was a DSM.
