Help with gauge cluster

I have a 2000 civic ex coupe 5speed and my speedometer wasn't working. On this forum members told me that i needed to replace the vehicle speed sensor, which i did and it is still not working. I took my car to autozone and they read the ecu codes, and one of the codes showed that the speedometer is not working, and that the ecu thinks that the car is not moving at all. Is there anyway to fix the speedometer without having to replace the whole gauge cluster??????

It has to be a problem with the VSS or the wiring between the VSS and the ecu. As long as there is a signal from the VSS the ecu will be fine it does not rely on the actual speedometer moving, it relys on the VSS. Try to see if any of the wires are damaged. And make sure that the VSS is installed correctly.

also make sure that the gears are lined up on it. Try resetting the ECU and the code will go away and hopefully your problem will be solved. :)

how do i make sure that the gears are line up on it? and also i reset the ecu twice, turn the car on and 3 seconds later CEL comes back on and same error codes. Also where can i get all of this checked out, because i have spent over 300 dollars trying to fix it and still no luck :( :( and i just want to fix this asap.

Honda is the best option IMO
