To be honest, I don’t remember what it stands for. I do know the HAL is once character backward of IBM :sly:

Almost correct:

Bavarian Motor Works

More correct would be Bavarian Motor Werken and the most correct would be Bayerische Motor Werken.

I learned what BMW stood for after watching Finding Forrester. BTW, those Subaru Forresters with turbo and 5spd are pretty fun. Just thought I'd tie that in there.

It's a Forester.

Ever seen the Forester WRX STI? Now that would be fun :evillol:

Loose the 'n' at the end and it'd be perfect. ;)

You mis-placed where the 'n' goes, actually.

Bayerische Motoren Werke

I realised that when Deakins mentioned it, but I wasn't about to go and edit my post to 'cover my ass'.

I speak Afrikaans which is a derivative of several European languages(Dutch, German...) so sometimes when I type German, I get the certain things muddled up.....

Why not? I did the exact same thing in this thread, when I recalled the meaning of BMW wrong, then looked it up, deleted the old one, and put up a new post.

That's what the Edit/Delete (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=1243887) is for;).

I know you did, I saw your original post, but it doesn't bother me to show I am human too and make mistakes like everyone else.

Deakins corrected me as he had the right to, and I accepted that.

Well, I doubt my sister knows, or for that matter my wife, and I very much doubt my brother-in-law knows......if that makes you feel any better.
