I have a '94 Cutlass Supreme SL 2 Door 3100 V6 that I have only owned for a little over a year.
In the morrning, when my car is first started up.. dead cold, I get a loud ticking from my engine. It goes away after my car is warmed up, but it still bothers me even after i have talked to other car people. I know that i am due for an oil change, could that be my problem?
Another thing is that my car jerks sometimes at high speeds and I am forced to step harder on my gas pedal to get it to stop. My rpm gage wobbles up and down when this happens. Do I need a tune up? Or is it something more serious than that.
Other than this, my car runs great.

The noise is likely an oil related issue, likely an oil change will help. Use only filters with anti-drain back valves, like the A/C units, or other name brand types. I would also recommend using a name brand oil and change it more often. I strongly recommend synthetic oil for its engine protection properties. The miss and tach issues are likely related, like a cam or crank sensor. The year model you describe was a pivotal one for these sensors, and they weretroublesome initially. Ray
