Ok i just purchased a 1963 rag bug, and it came with a stock 1600cc. But I want to get something highier than the 1600cc? Any questions or comments?

Stock for a 63 is a 1200cc. Even if it's a 1600, start by finding out what case you have. What's the number under the alternator/generator stand? If it's just a number or starts with a D, it's a 1200 case. Don't bother trying to get more out of it. If it starts with a F, H or B, it's a single relief 1300-1600cc case, and are adequate for a stock motor assuming it isn't already cracked somewhere. The case you want starts with an A, a '71 or later dual relief case. There are replacement cases that don't have numbers under the gen/alt stand. With these, look for AS21 or AS41 on the side of the oil sump.

How much bigger do you want to go? The only limiting factor is your wallet. I'm currently collecting parts for a 2054cc FI intercooled turbo motor for my '64 Baja
