boosting d16

I have a rather long question so bare with me. I have just installed a dohc zc into my 90 crx. I am now planning out a custom turbo kit for it. Now I know I could boost around 7 or 8 psi on stock internals with the zc but I now have this d16 laying in my garage with a blown headgasket. I still plan on boosting the zc, but in the mean time I also want to rebuild the d16 so it can take some serious boost. Then once I am done with the it I will drop it back in with the turbo from the zc.
My question is what should I do to get this d16 ready?
I know that I need low compr. pistons and rods but what else?



Another unrelated question, both my stock si tranny and the new zc tranny I got make some sort of grinding noise mainly when in low gears. It sounds kinda like something scraping in the tranny. Is this a common problem with Honda transmissions?

Don't really need low compression pistons stock compression is ok on the D series.

pistons- SRP or Weisco's.
Rods- Crower or Eagle or Pauter Xbeam Rods
Sleeves- Darton's look good may as well get an oversized bore while your there.

Build up your head some.
Valves, springs, retainers, turbo cam.

Have fun boosting up to 20 psi easy if you have the fuel management in place.

Ya i got a ? i just recently purchased a B20b if i drop that into my ls what other mods will i need. Can i keep my shift linkage, ls tranny, and everything else?

as long a u keep the wheel horse at or below 200, the stock bottom end is good- if u are worreid, do a compression,leakdown test to see exaclty how healthy the bottom end really is. valvesprings are a good idea, as well as some sort of tuning. dont really need a turbo cam, especially if u are just gonna put the turbo on the other motor eventually
