Hello,

Just wondering if anyone ever tried shooting alclad through one of the canaster propellent airbrushes (like the ones found at Wal-Mart)?

If so how does it perform?

Thx
alfred

Look for my R-1 thread in the section. I sprayed the Alclad chrome through a cheapo Testors airbrush with an air can.

Maybe so but you could still answer the mans question.

Asaenz, if you mean the spray gun kits rather than the dedicated airbrush kits then it will be possible if you can crank down the output pressure. You will also need to be aware it will be very wasteful due to the volume of paint used, and Alclad isnt cheap. You would be better to try and stretch to the cost of one of the cheaper proper airbrushes.

When I first read this thread, I thought of shooting it w/ a real gun. :lol2:

Anyways, yeah, it would be ok. I've tried it with my cheap Testors airbrush and it worked just fine.

I am sorry

I thought I was in the forum that allows for such ?s

Thx for your replies.

I feel stupid :screwy: cuz I was looking for this thread in the general car model forum, and then I realized I did this.

Perhaps a moderator can move this.

So has anyone gotten a good result with just a air propellant can? Cuz i got a air brush but no compressor only the canned air. Does it still work good just not aswell?

Propellant should works just fine, but I used a trick of having more than one can, because it loses pressure quickly as it gets cold. I switch the cans, and put the cold can in a bucket of lukewarm water, while using another.
Of course, in the long run, compressor is much cheaper, so you definitely want to save money.

So u mean when then can gets cold, it looses more power inside right? So i should warm it up by putting it in warm water then use it later? Thanx

I think what Hirofkd is saying is to, buy 2 cans. Use one untill it gets cold. Switch the cans and put the Cold can in warm water to warm it up, ready to use when the other can gets cold.
