Publication of kit rarity

I was just wondering if anyone knows of any magazine or website that keeps a listing of of the rarity of plastic kits or projected production runs, etc. I scavenge a lot and sometimes I find some old rare stuff. I know the things I want and how hard they are to find, but I'd like to know about other kits (like muscle cars, trucks, etc, things I'm not really into) and kits before my time that are hard to find. In other hobbies like action figures, sports cards, gaming cards, there are publications that show how hard it is get a card or figure. And some even have projected production runs or listing of special region distributed items, etc. Granted those hobbies have much more people in them, but I'm hoping there is something similiar for plastic model kits.
