I was reading a magazine and in thier project car they were experiencing rough shifts in thier 5spd tranny. They got a tip from the internet to use Dextron III automatic tran fluid with positrac additive and the 5 spd now works like brand new. Im interested in maby doing something like this for my car as it also shifts kinda rough. Anybody have any info on doing this?

Before you go doing that maybe you should check the gear oil level first...

I would stick with what it was intended to use. If something starts going bad, there usually are some quick fixes you can do to prolong it, like service of the fluids but when it comes down to it, the tranny needs to be fixed because something is starting to act up. There are many different parts so I couldn't say one particular thing applies to all. Its actually cheaper just to have it overhauled, then to wait, buy shit for it to help it along, and still you will have to overhaul it....
