Seriously, the MK5 will be a discrace to the Toyota family, it can have 800hp stock for all i care and it'll still be a peice of shit. The heritage of the Supra makes half the car, the I6 has been around since it split from the Celica line, and tons of small details that have been carried through the line. What's with the B/S, the Supra's always had a undersquare or square I6, but an oversquare V6 or V8? :disappoin :banghead: By the way the supra's been a "GT" car, that's nothing new. Anyway all the specs you see on the net are speculation, you really think toyota would give info out to a nobody before they gave it out to R&T or another big name mag, or long before they even release the car.

theres no way in hell toyota is going to use 11.5/1 compression on a stock engine. that info you gave is bullshit. also, i dont see where theyre going to get a 3.5 block from...3.3 is the closest they have to it.

there's no way in hell toyota's bringing back the Supra. Dead nameplates are not revived by Toyota.

In addition, the closest you're gonna get to a "Supra" will be the next Lexus IS. Stop dreaming.

this is only what I THINK,

1- There is a chance that there might be a new supra (what's the point of toyota's Racing campaigns-F1, etc- without a sports car)

2- it might have use NA/hybrid combination

i also heard somewhere that toyota, nissan, mazda and honda are going to go beyond the 280hp barrier with the new supra, GT-R, RX-7 and NSX

Toyota will be realsing a sports car sometime soon. It's a hybrid too. Forgot what it was called though.

neither the supra or the rx7 are going to come back. well in the next 30 yrs. new cars will come out replacing those but not the exact same cars.

As an employee for Canadas Best Toyota Lexus Dealership i hate to inform all of you who believe that the supra is not comming back that you are wrong. The 2005 Celica is the last year you will see a celica. Hence Toyotas creation of the Corolla XRS and the Matrix XRS that come with the Celica GTS motor and 6 speed Transmission. All of this is being done to pave the way for the 2006 Toyota Supra AND YES EVERYONE.. THE 2006 Celica Supra.
As per the rx7 comming back... thats why they made THE RX8... sometimes i wonder....

seems a little too good to be true...but if it is, that thing better not have a fuckin hybrid engine. the cylinder configuration change i can deal with..I6 is yes the heritage thing but i can live with a V, just as long as they dont shove an electric motor beside it where the turbos would/should go....even though its safe to say it wont have them

455 horsepower is great but hybrids are expensive enough as it is; toyota would be wasting a shitload of money if they made it a hybrid, so they'd prlly charge a fortune...mind you, anythings better than nothing. they gotta give us something....

i read that the supra is coming back in 2008. i also found some credible info, it's on this page: http://www.modernracer.com/spyshots/spyshots3.html. i like everything about it except for the front end... they could definitely do a better job designing that grille and headlights. i'm new to this forum, btw.

toyota never brings back old names, the celica and mr2 are going to be gone for the US after this year, something will replace it (they have the voltra and TXS concepts both coming around) but they never revive cars

THANK YOU this is EXACLTY (almost word for word actually) what I tell people

I might add that the Mk4 wasnt announced until 3 monthes before it came out.

RX-7 is technically a 'sports car'. 2 seater lightweight all around fun. Supra is a GT car, touring, heavy, 4 seats (although laughable) and dominated the GT series when the SkyLine didnt.

i saw in an Aussie mag pics of a front engined GT car being tested at the Nurburgring, it had a long bonnet, and was black (most of it was taped up). the article said that there was a debate as to the engine position, some say MID as it had vents in the boot (trunk to the non-aussies) but others say FRONT engined as it's bonnet was long. BTW it apparently is using a detuned V-10 F1 engine.

I just got a Car and Driver that had a car being called the Supra in it. Whether it was a Supra or not they wouldnt say. It looked pretty nice, a lot of European design elements in it. But I still love the MK III's.

There is a supercar Toyota is comming out with. It might be a V10, TT V6, or hybrid (oh dear god, no). Its most likly gonna have paddle shifts. Anyways, they dont know if it will be called the Supra, or when it comming out, but what they do know is that Toyota is pretty serious. These shots are of it being tested at Nurbergring.

The wing isnt gonna make it to production, and they are planning to change the rear lights. They might also do a better looking front bumper. I got all this info from MotorTrend mag, and channel4.com.

I have heard from a Toyota dealership that in 2006 some form of a Supra is coming back, and I read in Sportcompactcar about a Supra super car. It is coming back just not as what everybody loved. The MKIV cannot be replaced and all u guys bitchin about how Toyota is not loyal is naive. Technology advances very quickly so yes cars will die and news are born, besides if they brought back the Supra with same skin same guts what would define the MKIV as being legendary and seperate it from the new supra. you can not re-create the uniqueness of a car like that. I am happy that Toyota is even trying to get back in the game, so stop trashin Toyota! and hearing all these different specs you guys should check your sources

I agree with EVOcrazy, sounds about right and thanks for info

SportCompactCar had reports of "supra" super car with a V-10 developed in part with the Toyota F-1 program, but shit everybody says something different
