Tire upsizing on Ranger 2WD

I'm looking to upsize tires only on my 1999 Ford Ranger 2WD. Cosmetic only, w/ no lift (it's a lease). Preferably w/ an all-terrain tire.

Does anyone know what size limitations (width) I will have with the factory offsets? (No mods to wheel wells.)

Any bargains on tires in LA, CA area?

1999 XLT 2WD, factory suspension

Was looking at about a 255/60-15 for similar OD, but wondering about well scrub. I don't want to modify anything since it's a lease, and I want to go reasonable-$.

Is there an "off-road" tread pattern in a size like this?

Can I mount a 31X10.5-15 (I think it was)? This will throw off the speedo and give a "fuller well" look?

How wide can I go on the factory rim? Will the 255 fit?
