After work,a co worker and I decide to race. Him (ws6/ram air) me 97 eclipse spyder gst (on 18 inch chromes). my co worker is very knowlegeable and pretty cool. He's had a few cars and ran very fast times at the track. I just started putting on all bolt ons(intake,3 inch exh, boost controller, etc. Most recently ported the t25 and very much amazed in the spool and psi(19)i can run. So we hit a two lane frontage road and come to a full stop. he says give three honks=go. 1,2,3, were off. both cars skid tires, and by the time my tires catch traction hes pulled ahead 1 car. thinking if I dont catch any ground in 2nd gear its already over. 4000 rpms into 2nd and i notice i start to pull abit. till the end of 3rd gear 90mph hes to my back bumper and brake it. He gives a thumbs up and I likewise. We pull over and hes very amazed by the way my car pulled on him. We chat awhile and both go home. This morning at work he says he went into some of the dsm web sites and did some research. he's amazed at the times these cars run with just little mods. starts tellen me if i had a gsx ida had him from the get go. Im totally suprized( this guy is a total firebird/trans am fanatic.

Im guessing it had something to do with the 19lbs of boost your using. Just think of what his car would do with 19lbs of boost though :evillol:

Aw, crap.. here we go with the "what if's" and "it would's".....
Anyways.. Good kill!! Stock internalled(shit.. is that a word?) 4g63's can take 19psi??? Whats max psi on a 4g63 with stock internals??
Was the WS6 a slush box or a manual trans?? And I'm assuming he's stock??

Stock Internal's is prob what I mean. 4g63 stock internals can handle up to 400hp. 19psi is on a ported t25 actually making it a t28. everyday street use is 16psi and with the dual stage electronic boost controler i set the 2nd stage to 19 psi for racing. as for the max psi? havent dynoed my car yet. my max would be till my turbo blew or if i raised my psi to 20 and got less hp output when it was at 19 psi on a dyno run no.?

ws6 with 19lbs of boost would be evil i agree. but to get my car to run 19 psi would run me $150 for a manual boost controler. thats with doing the install myself. now if a ws6 was to run 19lbs boost. youd need
1. Turbo kit
2. install kit
3. boost controller
4. inner cooler
thats just the basics. heh now that you already spent 30 grand on the car. compared to my 18k, 3 years ago. It would take you at the least 3k with doing ALL installs yourself. It just doesnt add up if you ask me.

That would do you no good, you'd need a whole new damn engine on a WS6 with 19 psi. The aluminum block is good for 7-8 psi generally. What year WS6 was it?

Good Kill SpyderEclipseGst,
What BlkCamaroSS said. LSX blocks aren't very strong, they're not made for boost. You can safely boost an LQ4 (iron LS1) to 20-psi though.

This Week I'm Going To Put New Je Racing Pistons I'm Taking My Turbo To 20-25 Psi. I Just Raced A 95 3000gt Vr-4 On 10-04-03 And I Got Him With About 1 Car Lenght. So I Think U Should Go With The Stage 4 Garret Turbo And Lot's Of Mod's To Do That!!!

Just for perspective, the Fikse forged wheels weigh between 16 to 19 lbs per rim from 17 to 19 inches...my Classic SE-R's specialized, all-aluminum 14-inch rims are 17lbs apiece.

Yup, that's them, they're pretty damn amazing. I can't justify the price for them though...

Fiske's are pretty nice. But I think iForged and HRE are both much better.
19" iForged run about $900 - $1000...PER WHEEL! But they are most definately worth it! They're the nicest wheels I've ever seen...On ANY car.

I'm typing those links up by memory so I could be off. If they don't work, just go to yahoo.com and search for the respective brands, HRE and iForged.
