Diecast Help

Hi guys i'm new to this forum i usually stayed in the plastic models forum but now i really want to work on diecasts. i really want to work on Hot Wheels and Matchbox not 1/18, 1/24, 1/24, im talkin the really really small cars because i have so many and there only $0.89, also because plastic models are starting empty my wallet .So my question is: HOW DO I TAKE THE CHASSIS OFF OF A HOT WHEELS CAR? because they have those wierd screw type of things that i cant get out

P.S.: if i misexplained anything just tell me, dont make me look stupid on my first Diecast Thread

Good to meet you! I have yet to see a stupid question on this forum but i'm sure there must be a first time. Either way getting the bottoms off of hot wheels cars is a challenge. I reccommend using a Dremel tool. You are probably familiar with them but if you arent they basicly spin some kind of bit around at about 5,000-30,000 rpms. The two bits I use are a grinder that eats away metal (useful in this case) and a ceramic cutting wheel.

The little rivets on the bottom of the hot wheels car can just be sanded off by hand (might take a while) or you can get a dremel style tool and grind off the flattened top piece of the rivet. Once it is down to normal (the rivet is the same as a nail) you can pull off the frame. Of course with this method you have to be careful not to grind away the plastic frame. I don't work with little hot wheels much so I'm sure someone has a better idea but you can try the dremel.
