Head Unit

I have a 2003 malibu, well i attempted to put a aftermarket head unit in it and when i got the new harness it was huge. It said that i have to relocate the stock head unit somewhere else in the car for the new one to work and to keep my passlock and keyless entry working properly. It also said that i have to buy a aftermarket door chime cause the old one wont work, is there a way around this or can i spruce it up some other way without voiding warranty......

well I'm not too sure myself but i know a guy who was in the same situation and all he could do was add a bolt on exhaust. Now as far as I'm aware, bolt on's are simply noise makers, so I'd scratch that idea... Anybody got an answer to that?
