I just had a question. If i buy a '91 - '93 3000GT VR-4, it is basically the same thing as buying a '94 - '98 model? I know the exterior is differnt and that they are selling conversion kits online for it to look like a '99 for like $2000 or so. I was wondering if it is possible to buy a '91 - '93 model 3000GT and turning it into a '94 - '98 or even a '99. Is every part the same for ALL models, because that is what i read everywhere. Is it even worth it, or should i just keep looking for a '94+ model VR-4? Also, i am eventually going to get a body kit, even though there are some people that vote against that cuz they already like the looks of the stock 3000GT's. I just like it having a unique look to it, Unlike the rest. Hope I here form someone soon about their opinion.

The transmission is different between the two models. If you intend to push the car hard, you'll want to shy away from the 91s. There are quite a few people who change the body styles between the model years for a few hundred bucks so its certainly doable.

Personally, I think the look of the stock VR4s are really sharp as long as they have the chromies on them. :)

Just so ya dont get the wrong idea, there is more to the year change than just the transmision. In 93 the engine got forged internals, and a better trans and transfer case. In 94 bigger brakes were added, a 6 speed transmision, along with various other things.

Personally I would save up for a 94+. I have to disagree with Yogs on the rims. I hate chrome. However I like the stock body better than any body kit. Everyone has their own tastes, make the car what you want it to be, not what other people tell you it should be.
