ignition problem for 88 accord

My 88 accord suddenly died. I checked for spark. When you engage starter there is a single spark but then spark dissappears as you continue to crank. If you turn key off and try to restart, you get a single spark again but no more. I just replaced the igniter, no luck. Could it be the coil? What else?
